International psychic Uri Geller talks to Soul & Spirit about how to use your psychic powers to achieve success. We get the inside scoop (spoon pun intended)
Uri Geller is the British-Israeli psychic who amazed the CIA with his powers and bent spoons in homes across the UK. Now he wants people to realise that those abilities are in all of us and we can awaken our so-called ‘psi powers’ by reading more in his phenomenal book Use Your Psychic Powers To Have It All. He uses the Greek letter Psi to mean any kind of extrasensory perception or paranormal powers such as telepathy, clairvoyance, psychokinesis and precognition. We were lucky enough to chat with Uri who shares his favourite mantras for success and some of the life-changing experiences that made him world-famous!
“I was born in Israel, in Tel Aviv and have roamed the world for 50 years since. I fought in the wars here, and the government asked the CIA to do experiments to test my extraordinary powers. I was then tested by the CIA and for many, many months in Stanford Research, Palo Alto in California. They validated my powers – but I wanted fame and fortune, not to become a guinea pig! So I started doing TV shows, and I was surprised that I could actually bend metal in people’s homes.
Get your spoon!
“It was my first major TV show with 22 million viewers. I held a spoon, I looked into the camera, and I shouted, “Everybody at home, go and get your spoon!” I sent 12 million people to their kitchens and the spoon in the studio bent. “The telephone system of the BBC blew up because hundreds and thousands of people were calling up telling the studio, the BBC, that their spoons were bending and lights were flickering, pictures, paintings moving on the wall!
“For many years, I thought that it was my powers that were going through the TV through radio shows and so on. But I was wrong, because later on at the Los Angeles University of UCLA, scientists discovered that I was really only acting as a catalyst. I was a trigger. I was an enabler to the power of the minds of people. So you can do it for yourself – you can create success and you can bring in peace of mind.”
Believe it to win it
I believe, if you have enough faith, you too can do the impossible; you too can be a winner. Being successful does not mean you have to make a million. You can climb the ladder of success in small or large businesses, be amply rewarded for your efforts and enjoy yourself at the same time. And you will certainly have all the material comforts you need without breaking your neck to become super-rich. I believe everybody can be wealthy and successful if they put their minds to it. Getting there depends on your attitude. It requires guts, work and positive thoughts to be rich and successful. You just need to want it enough. Whether you want to go into business on your own or climb the corporate ladder as an executive, you can use Psi power to become rich and successful. Here’s how.
Be positive: Psych yourself up to be positive. You must believe you are a winner. Say to yourself: “I can pull this off if I really want to. I have the skill and the knowledge. There is nothing that can stop me. I’m going to do it. I want to do it.”
Be lucky: I believe everyone makes their own good luck. I often hear people say to others that they were in the right place at the right time. A lot of their opponents could have been there too but were not. Pure luck can play a part, but most often it is your Psi power at work. Positive thinking, perseverance, hard work and creating the opportunity is what brings the reward, and which others may mistake for luck.
Test your telepathy
Now try these practices from Uri’s book Use Your Psychic Powers to Have It All to test and strengthen your psychic powers.
You can sharpen your Psi sense by having fun with telepathy. The first step to reading minds is learning to sense someone’s physical presence. Close your eyes; hold out your palm; and ask your partner to trace a square, a cross or a circle with his or her fingertip, half an inch above your open hand. Focus on what you feel on your palm. A tingle, warm and electric, will begin in the sensitive skin. The tingle will quickly take shape… as a square, a cross or a circle. As you become more experienced, try to sense the shape when your partner is just thinking about it, instead of tracing it.
Uri’s near-death story
When he was a child of about five years old, Uri writes in his book, he was electrocuted by a sewing machine. “A short time after this incident,” he says, “but not necessarily as a result of it, some strange things began to happen.” He shared another NDE story with S&S:
“When I was a young soldier and fought in the war (when he served for Israel), I was shot and wounded in my arm, and there was a second when I thought I was fainting. but I never talked about it, I kept it very private. But there’s no doubt in my mind that in the process of almost fainting, I saw a light… That’s all. I can’t tell you I saw colours. I can’t tell you that I saw a tunnel, but I definitely felt that there is life beyond us. There’s no doubt in my mind that we don’t die…
“Albert Einstein proved that energy cannot be destroyed. So the question must be asked: if energy cannot be destroyed then what happens to our bodies when we die? I’m a great believer that our soul, our body, our spirit survives and we go to different dimensions. I’ve seen ghosts, I’ve seen things in the past, and I’m 100% sure that there is life beyond this.
“Einstein also said, decades ago: ‘The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.’”
