Important signs come when you sleep, says Lillyanne
Visitation and messages from our loved ones in spirit can occur most clearly when we are sound asleep. They can be obvious or coded, we just have to learn to listen to them.
Ever since I became aware of my mediumship abilities, I’ve fielded many questions from people who have had very similar experiences… They were dreaming, when suddenly, they felt just as vivid and aware as when they are awake. What’s more, there was a familiar figure standing before them – a loved one, who had, often recently, crossed to spirit.
Many of those who have discussed their experiences with me report feeling scared or alarmed, just as I was the first time I received an unexpected visit from spirit via one of my dreams. However, that fear soon recedes once it becomes clear that spirit, dearly beloved, is still the same person as they were on the Earth, and is coming through with love and to impart some valuable guidance.
Listen to your loved ones
I have been visited by spirit in dreams during some of the hardest times of my life. The guidance and reassurance that I received helped me through some of my darkest days when I was struggling to face the world.
A loved one in spirit, especially one who has recently passed, may be visiting simply to show you that they’re at peace now, or to bring you some comfort when they know you’re most in need of it. Other times, they might want to ask you to turn your focus to something that they feel you’ve overlooked, or to give you advice about a situation they know you’ve been stuck on. When we dream, we allow our subconscious to take the front seat, which also means that loved ones trying to reach us can do so much more easily, and appear clearer than they can in the physical world. However, this takes a lot of energy from spirit, so it most commonly happens in times of need.
Gather up the guidance
Dreams can also contain a lot of other signs that we are able to tune into by using our psychic intuition, especially if you suddenly find yourself conscious in your dream, otherwise known as lucid dreaming. If this happens, look at your dream’s surroundings, and consider the significance and meaning of those things in your waking life. It’s also possible to dream that you’re looking down at yourself as you sleep, which is often reported as scary, but Out of Body experiences aren’t intended to be feared. The purpose of this sort of dream is to give you perspective of a situation, so take the time to consider what this might be.
Keep a dream diary
If you’re ready to connect with your subconscious psychic awareness, I recommend keeping a dream diary next to your bed. As soon as you wake up, write down everything you can remember. Keep an eye out for patterns emerging, or themes that might be relevant to your personal life; spirit may be calling on you to take action.
