Find out how to take some space for yourself and regain your sense of calm, with these tips from Metamorphic Technique practitioner Axelle Bonaparte
Some days, don’t you find yourself running around trying to fit in everything and everyone: trying to be a good wife, mother, daughter, friend, colleague and, of course, do all the good things like eat healthily, stay active, read, books, stay calm and together, and the rest of it. Exhausting comes to mind! You may even have tried to find this magic ‘me time’, which disappeared many years ago, never to be seen again. (If anyone does find it, do please contact me!)
Well, here are some quick and simple tips to regaining just a little space and peace for yourself.
1 Wake up your senses
Cultivate self-awareness by going within. Your body tells you everything you need to know: when you’re cold or hungry, scared or excited etc. Listen. Keep your senses in awareness instead of survival mode. Let your senses talk to you. You’ll know what to eat, do, which direction to take, what is important or not. You already know; just listen within.
2 Wave goodbye to guilt
This one is a biggy. Guilt is a judgement from the mind; a nasty tool from the ego; the result of beliefs ingrained from generations to generations. Like a ferocious weed, you have to dig it out from the roots once and for all. Ask yourself how much time and energy do you spend tormenting yourself for things most people won’t even notice? Guilt is only in the mind, and is all made up. Just for a week or so, stop feeling guilty and notice how much energy you’ve gained. I bet you’ll even look younger! Just try it – what do you have to lose?
You think you do it already, don’t you? Well, your upper body does, just enough to keep you alive, but I’m talking about a conscious, deep breath that cleanses your whole body, releasing toxins, negativity, tension, confusion, a foggy mind, and recharges your battery like nothing else. When you breathe deeply in this way, your body feels calm, your mind is clearer, ideas start to pop up and energy is regained. Like a good cup of tea, things are so much better after few deep breaths.
These three simple tools can make such a difference. They cost nothing and could change your life!
