The new moon reflexology ritual you need to try

Mirror the moon’s energy with handy reflexology from expert Lisa Melbourne
As a clinical aroma-reflexologist, I love to incorporate aromatherapy
and reflexology into my work with the moon. Understanding which essential oils will complement the current moon energies, as well as which reflexes will support my health and wellbeing best, creates an even deeper connection with my mind, body and spirit.
Aroma-reflex for the new moon
The new moon, also known as the dark moon, is completely invisible in the night sky. The energy during the time of the new moon is reflective and quiet; a time when we allow ourselves to be alone with our thoughts so that we can pay attention to ideas that are beginning to form.
Adrenal reflex
On a new moon, find somewhere quiet to sit and close your eyes for a few minutes. Slow your breathing down, taking deeper breaths in, and releasing your breath fully, until you feel calm and relaxed.
1 The adrenal reflex is indicated as number 1 on the hand map. Working the adrenals will help to calm us, which will help to clear daily thoughts.
2 Place your left thumb over the area shown on the hand map. The adrenal
reflex is located just underneath the edge of the fleshy pad of your palm: push down with your right thumb, into the fleshy pad, almost like you are trying to get underneath it.
3 Now apply a gentle, circular pressure to the reflex for a minimum of 10 seconds. Breathe in for five seconds and out for five. Clear your mind of all thoughts, and imagine any tension flowing out of your mind and your body. Work the adrenal reflex on both hands.
Brain reflex
Number 2 on your hand map, the brain reflex is located on the fleshy pad of your thumbs. Working the brain reflex can help to reduce tension.
1 Place the pad of your left thumb over the pad of your right thumb, supporting with your left forefinger on the nail-side of your right thumb.
2 Apply a gentle, circular pressure to the pad for a minimum of 10 seconds. Clear your mind and focus on your breathing. Make sure you work your left hand, too.
Crown chakra reflex
Number 3 on the hand map is the reflex for the crown chakra. You will also cover the third eye chakra and your pineal gland across the tip of your thumb. These can help connect you to your higher wisdom, supporting your creative process as you plan new goals.
1 Support your right thumb, as you did for the brain reflex; but this time, we are going to work across the tip of the thumb instead of the fleshy pad. Slow your breathing down and clear your mind.
2 Now ask your guides and higher self to lend you their wisdom and support for new goals and projects. Keep your mind relaxed, and write down any messages in your journal, so that you don’t forget them. Work your left thumb in the same way.
