Did you know angels are the best mindfulness gurus out there? Celestial intuitive Tara LaDue explains how they can keep you grounded and appreciative of the miracles all around
I have a confession. I have been struggling with staying present. How do I shut my monkey mind off? Thank goodness my angels brought this to my attention, loud and clear, through an oracle card from Kris Carr’s Crazy Sexy Love Notes.
I have been projecting into the future, worrying about things that I want to happen and what I need to accomplish, while missing out on this beautiful life right in front of me.
It was time to “be present,” as the card I picked so obviously stated.
Miracles are happening in every second of every day right before our eyes. Getting caught up in anything other than the here and now makes for missed opportunities for happiness. I decided straightaway to meditate on the card I picked and see what more my angels would suggest. Here’s what they told me:
You got it: meditate! Meditation can be hard for some of us with all the distractions. Today, I am usually most successful meditating in a kundalini yoga class. But, recently I have found some guided meditations by Louise Hay, Doreen Virtue, and Gabby Bernstein that allow me to live in the moment. A crystal that also helps with meditation is fluorite.
When things get too much – turn things over to the angels. My deities asked me not to forget they were there to help whenever I needed. If I am obsessing over certain outcomes or the past, I can release these thoughts over to them. I can let go through a good old conversation with my Higher Power.
Turn off the internal mind chatter. Not that simple, right? It can be if you recognise when you are doing it. I can slow things down by describing to myself what is happening in that moment. For example, “right now I am having a conversation with my angels to guide me with ways to stay present. They are telling me to describe aloud each minute as it is happening and appreciate the opportunities in it.” The more you practise this, the easier it gets. Promise.
Befriend your breath. The angels told me if I pay close attention to my breath, my mind will enter a state of presence. When I feel the flow of air through my body, I am living in the now. When I count out the inhale through my nose and the exhale out of my mouth, I am engaged in my present life.
I’m so grateful to my angels for bringing me back to the present. Life is such a blessing. Little and big miracle moments are happening right now. Don’t miss them! Lao Tzu says, “If you are at peace, you are living in the present”.
