You got… Aphrodite!
According to fabled legend, this Greek goddess was born out of sea foam off the coast of Cyprus. Aphrodite then went on to become a staple figure in classic mythology, representing love and beauty. You’re fuelled by the idea of love, ranging from romantic to platonic, and the love of your friends and family. Your sense of beauty is something you hold dearly, but tapping into your inner beauty will give you a fuller sense of spiritual connection.
To evoke her feminine energies, call upon Aphrodite by filling a warm bath with rose petals, lighting a red or pink candle and soaking for as long as you need. Lay back and think about all of things that make you loved – in no time, you’ll start to realise you have just as much on the inside to offer as you do on the outside.
You got… Freya!
Norse goddess of love, nature and magic, Freya is most suited to your personality and spirit. Connecting with this well-loved and much-revered protector will help you not only realise your own true potential, but that of the things around you – from animals, Mother Nature and your fellow human.
Keep an Emerald gemstone close to you, as this crystal is strongly associated with Freya – this nurturing and stabilising stone will offer you her wisdom and open your heart, allowing you to be more receptive of others and the energies from nature. If you’re ever feeling a sense of self-doubt or you simply need a boost, clutch at your Emerald and gently repeat to yourself: “Freya, my goddess that be, allow my heart to open to love, so mote it be.”
You got… Isis!
A cult figure whose legend has survived thousands of years, Isis is the one we believe you should reach out to. Often referred to as ‘The One Who is All’, Isis is a lunar deity, also associated with magic and healing. We sense you may need some healing in your life – whether that is on yourself or for someone close to you.
To call upon Isis and to welcome her into your life, you must first make your intentions very clear. She can only come to those whose conscious mind is open. Firstly, lay out an altar with offerings for Isis – she particularly likes flowers, milk, honey, incense and candles. Then close your eyes, and picture yourself surrounded by a white glow, similar to that emitted from a full moon. Chant three times that which you wish to heal in either your life or another’s, and end the ritual by saying “Thank you, goddess Isis, The One Who is All.”
You got… Pele!
Hawaiian mythology’s volcano goddess Pele is an all-powerful deity, and can be utilised for your own magic and spellwork. While often depicted as vengeful and filled with wrath in some tellings, Pele is considered a mother goddess, and in folklore is protective of her family and territory.
To cast a spell of protection over yourself or your loved ones, invoke Pele with the following ritual: Take a red crystal of your choice (we suggest a Red Jasper or Ruby), and place it in front of a red candle. Light it, sprinkling ground coffee granules around both the candle and crystal. On a small piece of paper, write down any protective desires you wish for, such as angelic guidance for someone about to go on a long haul flight, or a shield around someone about to start a new job. Burn the paper (this will evoke the fiery power of Pele), and as you do so, chant the following: “Mama Pele, protect and shield, guide and save, so mote it be.” Once the paper has burnt, blow out the candle’s flame, and sprinkle some of the coffee grounds around the candle. The smoke rising should ascend towards Pele, and your protection wish should reach her.
