Uncover the mysteries behind the exploration of previous lives and realise the secrets to unlocking old memories from a lifetime ago
We all have memories – some good, some bad and some that define us. Very few of us can actually remember back to when we were babies, so what else might we not be able to remember? Our innate interest in the past and curiosity about where we come from is natural, and we often learn a lot about our present by taking a look back at experiences. Just imagine then, how much we may be able to understand about human history and our own life story if we were open-minded to experience and explore the possibility of downloading memories from previous lifetimes – that’s exactly what past life regression enables us to do.
Author of The Many Faces of You Revealed with Past Life Regression and Past Life Therapists Association chairperson, Andrew Hillsdon believes that visualising in your mind’s eye yourself in past times is the key to unlocking memories and can ultimately help us understand ourselves better. “People can use past life regression to find out who they have been and why they behave in certain ways. They can find out if they have shared previous lifetimes with people they know and can also find the original cause of issues which are causing mental or even physical unrest in their present lifetime,” he says.
“Regardless of personal beliefs, past life regression can work for everyone, so the important thing is to accept it and enjoy the benefits that it brings.”

Some of the most common reservations associated with past life regression are: ‘I don’t think I can be hypnotised’, ‘I’m just imagining it’, ‘I will get ‘stuck’ in a past life’, Andrew simplifies the formula for past life regression as “merely an exercise in remembering. Hypnosis is used to access the part of our mind where past life memories are kept – the subconscious. It is a natural everyday state of mind, we are in a form of hypnosis when reading a book or simply by daydreaming.” So, most of the time, if you’re fully open to it, you can enjoy the full benefits of regression.
“The concept of reincarnation, is the belief that we return to this world many times in order to experience and evolve,” explains Andrew. With that in mind, it is plausible to consider that, if we go deep enough and explore our inner memories, we might be able to remember details and feelings, perhaps even hurts and pains from past lives. “There are many cases that can be documented through historical research which prove the accuracy of the information, far beyond the chances of random imagination.” Andrew believes this gives credibility to this form of spiritual healing: “This is the only concept that can explain all the experiences that I have dealt with during many hours of regression therapy.
“Remember,” adds Andrew, “as with any special field of spirituality, it’s important to approach past life regression with an open mind and positive enthusiasm to better yourself.” Therefore, a positive attitude towards it seems to be the key to unlocking the door.
