Nine Easy Ways To Celebrate The Fae This Midsummer

Fairy Lady Karen Kay shows you how to create your own summery fae folk celebration
Try fairy spotting
Wait until dusk and go out into a wild and open space, or a local woodland, sit quietly in nature and wait to see what happens! Be aware of tiny darting lights and activity from the corner of your eye. Take a notepad and pen with you to document your findings. Fairies can present themselves visually and telepathically, so stay aware and see what happens, and expect the unexpected!
Plant your own fairy garden
Clear a space in your garden, patio or even in a window box as a place for the fairies, so it’s a little fairy sanctuary. Buy some organic seeds (ideally wild flowers), and sprinkle them generously on the soil. As you plant the seeds, set your intentions for the fairies to come and nurture them. You can recite this little fairy spell if you wish: “Welcome fairies, to this special place. Show yourselves with love and grace. Come in peace and be welcomed here, in any season or time of year.” Next, make a wish from your heart and know that it shall come to pass, for the highest good of all. As your flowers grow, so too will your wishes with the help of your new fairy friends.
Create your own fairy party
Gather together a group of friends and make a fairy-themed picnic! Bring fairy cakes, honey sandwiches and some chocolate too, (ideally organic!). Remember that fairies eat the energetic vibration of our food, so once a fairy has ‘eaten’ it, you might find it tastes a bit bland, for they absorb all the sweetness and flavour!
Attend a fairy festival
In the UK fairy festivals and events are becoming very popular. For a very special midsummer fairy gathering, you could try the Three Wishes Fairy Festival in magical Cornwall at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park between the 15th and 17th of June. Visit fairyfestival.co.uk
Photograph the fae folk
If you are very patient, you could even try to capture these magical beings on film! They often appear as lens flares and orbs in photographs. Be aware of the tiniest details and you never know what you might find.
Make a fairy offering
To give thanks for the hard work the fairies do all year long. Leave out their special treats, organic chocolate, honey and anything natural and sweet – for they love to eat! Feed the birds too, for the birds and bees carry these gentle creatures as they tend to the earth.
Write a song or a poem
Do this to tell the fairies them how much you appreciate them. It does not have to be chart worthy, just something simple and from your heart.
Give a fairy tarot or oracle reading
Do this for yourself or a friend, and connect with the fairies when you do it by saying, “Fairies join me as I glimpse into the future, with your guidance and love. Show me what I need to see that will help myself and humanity.” In return for the reading, you could ask your friend to give a small donation to your favorite charity in return for the reading. Select a cause that helps the earth, or something dear to your heart.
Make a pledge to recycle more
Use environmentally friendly products in your home. The fairies will love you forever! Plus, they may even throw an extra wish your way!
