This powerful stone is the one thing you should keep close-by this autumn, according to white witch Tudorbeth
There are many stones that could be chosen for the autumn crystal, yet one outshines them all. Alabaster is a magnificent stone of transition, healing and spiritual connection to the Divine. The stone was a favourite in Ancient Rome, where it was widely used for carvings. Alabaster is also an ecclesiastical [relating to the Christian church or its clergy] stone as historically many Christian carvings were made from it. Alabaster is found in a range of shades that are reminiscent of autumn, including red, brown, yellow, orange and white. Black alabaster is extremely rare but can still be found in Italy. It is the stone of transition and autumn is most certainly the season of change. If you decorate your home with one during autumn it can help in the shift from one season to another.
As it is a stabilising stone, alabaster is believed to help bring feelings of calm, which is of direct benefit for those overcoming grief. If there has been a passing in the family, then place a fragment of alabaster in the home to help heal the wounds of this emotional and final voyage. Any piece of alabaster would be good for this purpose, but a piece of black alabaster is especially powerful at such a time. You could also dab some anise or clove oil on the alabaster to help healing and ease the spiritual upheaval.

Perform an alabaster energy spell
Alabaster is also known as the ‘drawing’ stone, not just because of the carvings and drawings one can make from it, but because it can draw things to you or away from you, depending on the energy and intent you wish to work with in magic. It is also used as a meditation vehicle. Further, alabaster can help ‘charge’ other stones by placing a stone on top of the alabaster and leaving it overnight. Alabaster has a deep connection to the moon and sun due to its translucent appearance. When held against either one, the light will shine through. Thus alabaster can also act as a conduit, allowing energies to flow through it and into other stones. To draw these energies to you, hold your piece of alabaster or alabaster ornament in your hand and light an orange candle as you say:
“In this season of change,
Bring me the courage,
To face that which I cannot see,
Help me to have flexibility,
An’ it harms none so mote it be.”
