Master Magickal White Witch Worship By Creating Your Own Altar!

Follow our easy steps to create your own magickal altar for white witch spells and rituals
Magic starts at home, and the best way to harness powerful energies for yourself is by creating your own altar. It serves as your very own space where you can safely and comfortably practice magic. Here, we’ve listed our altar must-haves and how to set it up – but these are only guidelines – you’re free to make your space your own and how you see fit. Happy spellcasting, witches!
Steps for setting up your altar
Create your inner sanctum ready for spellcasting galore!
1 Firstly, decide where you want to set up your altar. Do you wish to focus on sunspells? If so, be near a window with plenty of natural light. Are you more of a kitchen witch who focuses on working with herbs? Then why not put your altar somewhere in your kitchen or dining room?
2 All you need is a small table, shelf or flat surface that you feel comfortable practising on. Once you have decided what you would like to use, you can then drape a tablecloth over it before laying down your tools. We suggest purple or black velvet.
3 Take your witch tools and lay them out across the altar. Some magic mavens prefer to include things that represent all five of the elements (fire, earth, wind, water and spirit), but it is entirely up to you. If you are more focused on connecting with mainly fire goddesses, you may wish to have an assortment of red candles and crystals on your altar.
4 Before spellcasting, we recommend that you give your altar a cleanse. This can be done by holding each tool from your altar and saying three times “Blessed be these tools of the divine, may they serve me as I cast.”
5 You are now ready to begin – perform at your altar as little or as often as you see fit. Remember, it is your space for you to spiritually connect and resonate with.
Altar essentials
Ensure your altar has these for ultimate power and strength
Amethyst
Whether in the form of a tumblestone, geode, pendulum or raw crystal, this purple gem is essential for any altar as it helps amplify the power of spells and offers protection against negative energy during spellcasting.
Sage
This powerful herb has many uses and is not to be missed from your altar – from burning its dried leaves to purify your surroundings, to using in your spells and mojo bags, every white witch should not be found without their sage!
White candles
Candles of all colours are great to have on your altar, but if you’re tight on space, ensure the one colour you have is white – these can be used for anything at all as they’re a neutral colour and can be charged with your intentions.
Chalice
Symbolic of fertility, a silver chalice is a great addition to your altar as it can be used during spells, ceremonies and for keeping moon water to cleanse your crystals during a full moon.
Salt
Salt offers spiritual protection and represents the element of Earth – keep a small bowl of it on your altar, or sprinkle it during spellcasting to absorb any unwanted energies that may be present.
