Bring self-love into your life by connecting with your soul
Many years ago, when I first began to channel messages from Spirit, I became aware that I had a ‘higher self’, a soul, something that was guiding and supporting me. Eventually I realised that my earth-bound human body was simply a physical manifestation for my higher self to work through and I stopped seeing myself as separate from the spirit realm. Because of my abusive childhood experiences, I struggled with the idea of self-love, so it was a relief for me to learn about my higher self and to discover there was a version of me who was wiser, kinder and stronger than the version of me who I struggled to love. My higher self was the part of me I could love and who would love me in return. Regardless of what had been done to me and said to me, this beautiful, graceful spiritual being was unconditionally loving. From that point forward, when I heard other people talk about self-love, I stopped questioning what that meant and knew that when I focused on the pure, unbroken part of me – my higher self – self-love was indeed possible for me.
Believe in love
When I look back on my life, the heartbreak I’ve faced, and the challenges I’ve overcome, I know for sure that it’s my higher self who has continually helped me to believe in love.
If you’re struggling with selflove, getting to know and learning to love your higher self is the first step towards easing the struggle. When you connect with your higher self, they will show you all kinds of loving ways to treat yourself. Yes, there will be bubble baths and fluffy blankets, but they will also encourage you to choose kinder thoughts and to be patient with yourself. You’ll see an increased discernment in your friendships and relationships, better choices with the food you eat, the quality of your sleep and perhaps most importantly the love and respect you show yourself.
Finally, being of service to others is one of the best ways your higher self can teach you about self-love. As a psychic medium, nothing lights me up more than knowing I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s life. For me, self-love is best reflected in spiritual service to others.
Mirror, mirror, on the wall…
I promise you the following exercise is a powerful game changer when it comes to self-love! If at first you don’t succeed, keep trying! First, sit quietly in front of a mirror and place your right hand over your heart. Look in the mirror and allow yourself to stare back at your reflection – this gets easier! Look deeply into your eyes for as long as you can, but if possible for at least three minutes. Say to your reflection: “I am here to meet my higher self.” As you continue to look deeply into your eyes you will eventually see your higher self looking back at you. Then say, “thank you for loving me, what do you need me to know?” Close your eyes, sit for one more minute, then get on with your day. Trust that you will begin to see positive changes in how you feel about and treat yourself. You can repeat this exercise as often as you like.
