White witch Patricia Weston explains how she keeps calm during life’s stressful and challenging times – and how you can too!
Tension in the air can wreak havoc with your surroundings. I found this out in a very dramatic way a few years ago. My husband and I had an argument and the sparks of energy that flew from our feud caused the electrical pole to come crashing down outside our house (needless to say, it stopped us in our tracks!). We had been under considerable pressure with a new baby who wasn’t sleeping, and my husband was out of work, so the strain caused by stress had slowly built up between us. Our fiery exchange almost blew up everything we had worked hard to build together, but in a positive way, it helped clear the air too.
I call these moments ‘Tower’ moments, as the energy and sparks that fly remind me of the Tower card in the tarot deck. These energy shifts are necessary at times to break apart an old situation in order to re-establish a new system and clear the air. As the electricity company got to work on fixing the pole, I knew I had to get to work on restoring harmony and calm in our home – and you can too. To prevent the tension from building up, here are some simple rituals you can perform regularly to ensure your hearth and home is forever filled with love and harmony.
Exercise: Two steps to tranquility
1. Burn a sage bundle at least once a week to cleanse your home of negative energy. Open the windows as you waft the smoke around the house in a clockwise direction and say, ‘Smoke of sage surround my home, clear it of negativity and fill it with clear white light.’ Move towards the front door, open it and visualise all the old, stale energy leaving your home.
2. Fill every angle of your home with cleansed rose quartz crystals. I like to purchase bags of raw, rough rose quartz from crystal shops and place them in every corner of a room and in-between all family photographs. This raises the energy in your home as rose quartz has a high vibration of love and harmony. Your house will feel very calm and serene.
