How To Be More Positive In 5 Steps

There’s proof in the positivity! A study has shown that those who are more optimistic thinkers are happier, healthier and wealthier – what a good combination to be! Soul Analyse found that 49% of respondents described their thoughts as ‘extremely positive’ or ‘quite positive’, and when asked to rank various aspects of their lives such as relationships, career and well-being, they all scored highly on the scale.
So we’ve got a few ways you can help yourself become more positive in your day to day life (and if you’re already positive enough, why not share with us how you keep optimistic on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or even drop us an email at soulandspiritmagazine@aceville.co.uk – we’d love to hear from you!).
1 Cultivate crystals
Crystals are great for all sorts, especially bringing positive vibes into your life. Wearing a tiger’s eye bracelet for example will help promote new beginnings and the courage to move forward in life. Give a loved one a merlinite stone if you feel they’re experiencing negative thoughts – simply carrying it will help promote optimism and to seize the moment.
2 Harvest blooms
Flowers are a quick and easy way to bring some positivity into your life. A simple collection of your favourite flowers will brighten up any room and make you feel at peace. Sunflowers, for instance bring about a strong sense of encouraging optimism as well as helping to build self-confidence. Plus, who doesn’t love the cheery disposition of a sunflower?
3 Motivate others
Soul Analyse’s study saw that “among those who were seemingly unhappy with their lives, 71% had never practised meditation and 74% had never used affirmations”, so maybe invite a friend along to a yoga class or simply give someone a compliment. It’ll brighten their day and their smile should make you smile back!
4 Celebrate any occasion
If you don’t have reason to be positive – find one! If someone in your life has recently received good news such as a job promotion, or there’s a birthday on the horizon, go all out for it. A gesture such as a card, making some a present or throwing them a party will go down a treat and their gratitude will help your optimistic outlook on life skyrocket.
5 Feng Shui
Your negativity may stem from somewhere close to you, such as your immediate surroundings. A home or even bedroom that’s short on natural light will bring your mood down, thus affecting your overall outlook and levels of optimism. Something calming like an indoor water feature will bring a sense of tranquillity and clear thoughts within your living space, or even something as simple as keeping your curtains open to let the sunshine in will help you feel better overall.
