Go outside to a quiet spot. Sit on the grass with your back against a tree, or on a park bench with both feet flat on the ground. Close your eyes and breathe deeply – become mindful of each breath, inhaling to a count of seven. As you do, try to imagine a gold light coming into the body; hold it in for seven seconds. Then, exhale out of your nose to a count of seven. Imagine, as you exhale, old energy, thought patterns, negativity, and other people’s energy leaving your space, making it in perfect balance and harmony with your soul.
As you continue this for several minutes, try to imagine the energy flowing up and down your spine. Be mindful of the heart center, which is the seat of the soul, and attempt to become mindful of what the essence of life feels like here.
Once you have come to this space, open your eyes and find a tree or a flower or even blades of grass and try to imagine your energy blending with the energy of these living beings. As you slowly blend with their energy, you will begin to feel the oneness of all life. The connection always can become deeper by using the breath.
