Do you ever feel like you are Alice tumbling down the rabbit hole where everything around you is changing and seems out of your control? Life can feel like it’s too big or too small. Nothing quite fits. Nothing is quite right, but you aren’t sure why. Haulwen Nicholas is the Magical Mojo Coach and she explains how to change your life the witchy way!
Visualise your witchy life
Create a vision book where you collect the images of the life you want. Light a candle and focus on how your life will look, sound and feel when you have achieved it. At new moon, spend time reconnecting with it, doing a meditative exercise where you visualise already having your dreams and resolutions fulfilled and say “I believe in me” seven times.
Keep magical goals
Set specific intentions and break them down into small steps that you can achieve in each moon phase and stay focused on them. For each goal, write it in a journal. Light a candle, review what you have achieved and give gratitude. Write down the steps you will take between this new moon and the next to achieve that next step.

Step into a new life
If you’re trying something new or learning a new way of thinking, keep at it! When you learnt to ride a bike, you didn’t do it the first time, you needed stabilisers, a guide and lots of practice. We can’t expect an outcome from learning something once. Use each new moon as a time to remember to go back and review something you have already learnt. Use it as a time to reconnect with learning and build your knowledge to become an intrinsic part of you.
Discover yourself
Revel in who you really are! We all put on different masks – parent, friend, colleague, yet few of us stop to let the masks drop and focus on what lights us up. In my Magical Mojo Academy, this is often the one area that many find their lightbulb moment. Using Myers Briggs personality types, they reconnect with their true self. Many of the women I work with are introverts and being able to articulate their need to gain energy from their internal world has made it easier for them to say no and have confidence in what’s right for them. Find inner confidence
So much is going on in the world and it can make us feel confused. When you start focusing on what’s within your influence, that’s when you recognise how you can make changes in your life – you can feel more confident, be less confused and have some control.
A great way to do this is to write on Post-it notes everything you are concerned with. Make a circle big enough for you to sit in with battery-operated fairy lights, then create a bigger circle outside this one. Sit in the inner circle. The circle you are in is the one where you have direct influence to change things. For example, you might look out for magic and wonder to feel more positive or do an energy audit to determine what lights you up. Try my confidence spell on the right!
Outside this, the next circle is where you can influence other people to make the changes, but you cannot guarantee the outcome. For example, writing a letter to your MP or chatting to your manager about a way to change things at work.
Then there is the expanse outside the circle. These are the things you cannot influence, such as wider world issues. Use my elemental magical tip on the right to help release any worries.
Now try something new
Here are two fantastic rituals to try yourself and get your witch on!
A confidence spell
Gather up:
•An orange candle
•A mug of peppermint tea (it promotes inner strength)
•An agate crystal for confidence
1 Light the candle. Focus on the flame.
2 Hold the crystal in your dominant hand.
3 Sip the tea breathing in the aroma and feel it energise you.
4 In your mind, visualise being confident and say these words: I look confident, I sound confident, I feel confident, I am confident.
5 Imagine the crystal filling with your confident energy.
6 Repeat 11 times becoming more confident every time you say it.
7 Blow out the candle and carry your crystal with you.
Elemental magical tip
Anytime you feel a little worried or concerned about events beyond your control, try this technique to reconnect with the elements. Pinch your thumb to each finger, breathing in deeply, then exhale saying the words long and slowly to release the air. Repeat as indicated below:
•Thumb to index finger, inhale, exhale saying earth
•Thumb to middle finger, inhale, exhale saying air
•Thumb to ring finger, inhale, exhale saying fire
•Thumb to little finger, inhale, exhale saying water
Repeat until you can feel yourself growing calmer.
