Take a deep breath in…
through your nose and then blow out the breath through your mouth. Repeat three times. Imagine yourself standing on a beautiful beach. Look around you and admire the view. As you look out to sea, watch the water moving in … and out … in … and out … Enjoy the movement of the sea.
Hear the birds singing above you….
Feel the water lapping gently around your feet. Feel relaxed. Feel calm and peaceful. Feel totally at ease. Enjoy the relaxing sensations of being on the beach.
Become aware of a beautiful energy surrounding you…
and feel joy as the energy gets stronger. Enjoy the sensation of this total, unconditional love, flooding through your body. Become aware that you are no longer alone. The energy comes from your own dear Guardian Angel, who is now standing in front of you. Smile in greeting as your loving friend steps forward.
Feel your guardian angel gently hold you…
and allow yourself to become excited at the opportunity of connecting with a familiar companion. You recognize this love and remember that your angel is always with you. You know inside that you have met many times before and will meet again. Take a moment to assimilate this information.
Make a mental note of your angel’s appearance…
If you wish, ask her name. Sit down together and take a few moments to speak with your angel. Ask any questions you may have and wait as your angel answers you.5
Now your angel is ready to pull away…
Hug goodbye. Your angel reassures you that you can come back to this place at any time and meet face to face again if you wish. Your angel is always close by. You know that you will communicate in this way again, over and over, and each time your contact will become stronger and clearer. You are happy and contented, you feel at peace.
You are now totally relaxed and refreshed…
When you are ready, begin to come back into the present. Open your eyes in your own time and be aware of your surroundings. Look around and orient yourself back into your body.
My top tips
- Have a glass of water ready so that you can have a drink as soon as you come out of your meditation. If you prefer a hot drink, make one in advance and keep it in a flask at your side.
- Once you are wide awake after the meditation exercise, make some notes about what you have experienced. You’ll find recording your experiences will help you to get better and better. Practice the exercise—a lot!
