8 Crystals You Need For The Best Night’s Sleep Ever!

Our crystal experts show you how the right gemstones can help you drift away…
For balance and protection
Penny Alterskye from Clarity of Sight suggests…
Lepidolite
Lepidolite is a form of Mica that has trace amounts of lithium present, which helps a great deal with sleep. It has a beautiful lavender pink colouration that works with both the heart chakra and mind, bringing both together in balance. This blending of emotional and mental energies within the body help with rest, nightmares and sleep disturbances. You can pop a stone under your pillow to help calm your mind before sleep, to help you sleep, or enable you to fall asleep quickly.
Black Obsidian
I love to add Black Obsidian to a sleep routine. It’s a highly protective crystal that helps ground and protect energy. It is also a great crystal to protect you from unwanted spirit visitors and negative energy you may have picked up during the day from situations, places and people around you. This ensures that you get a good night’s rest without disturbance, keeping your own energy safe as it gives you psychic protection while you sleep.
For calm and insomnia
Clive Carter from Nature’s Treasures recommends…
Smoky Quartz
This is an excellent crystal to have in the bedroom, as its grounding, calming and soothing properties will quickly calm your mind of the hectic thoughts of your busy day or the stresses of what tomorrow may bring. By calming the mind, the stone gently restores your energy to leave you fresh and alert by the morning to face the new day. My personal favourite is a large polished point with many inclusions and rainbows… just gazing into it for a few quiet minutes before bed relaxes me ready for a great night’s sleep!
Charoite
Named after the only place it can be found (near the Chara River in Siberia), Charoite is a superb stone to keep tucked inside of your pillow case. It has been
known for its great healing powers in preventing insomnia, and is said to relieve stress. Once awake, you will find its gentle energy will have graced you with a reinvigorated life force, giving you new stamina to take on the day.
For healing and an overactive mind
Tracy Munn from The Crystal Tree recommends…
Amethyst
Amethyst is one of my first go to crystals when I am not sleeping well, as it is a member of the Quartz family and is one of the master healing crystals. It is said to aid in the transmission of neural signals through the brain and can help balance your energy field and bring deeper, calmer sleep.
Howlite
This is an extremely calming stone that is excellent for an overactive mind. It is the one to use if your mind is filled with mental chatter or you are finding it hard to wind down. Place it under your pillow or hold in your hands. Focus on your crystal and just allow yourself to breathe gently and slowly, absorbing its energy.
Tracy’s top tip!
Create a crystal grid and place it under your bed. Use a small Amethyst cluster in the centre, surrounding it with four
small Amethyst tumbles, placing a small Clear Quartz point between each one and the centre. Then place four small
white Howlite tumbles in between the Amethyst tumbles.
For positivity and staying present
Hannah Simpson from The Zen Shop suggests…
Blue Lace Agate
This promotes positive self-talk. Instead of wrestling with our minds about the choices we have made throughout the day, and worrying about what tomorrow will bring, Blue Lace Agate gently reminds us to be kind to ourselves in these moments to allow our focus to settle on the positive things we have accomplished.
Red Jasper
Red Jasper can help you stay present – its job is to distract the mind and bring your awareness to right now – to the sensations of your body, the weight of your head resting on your pillow, the feelings of soft fabric hugging your body and the rejuvenating energy the darkness brings. Allowing sleep to find its way to you!
