Ensuring that your space is kept tidy not only keeps your home physically but energetically, too. Material objects hold energy, so the more of it we have laying around, the more energy we have to sift through. If you accumulate too much, the energy of your home might feel stuffy or heavy. Have a regular cleaning schedule and stick to it so that you can ensure that there are no dusty corners, grimy spots or cluttered cupboards. Get in the habit of clearing out your closets and loft space at least once a year – and perhaps even make a ritual out of it. Summertime is great for getting rid of the old and make space for the new to flow in. Having your space well lit, including dark corners, can also help to bring the energy of your home together in a cohesive way.
2. Tap into crystals
Throughout the years, crystals have been linked to Mother Nature’s wisdom and healing qualities. Different crystals possess different properties that encourage different feelings, so it’s important to select the right crystal for each room. Rose Quartz for example is a wonderful stone to use in your bedroom, as it encourages self-love and intimacy, while Selenite is a great option for your hallway as it has rather powerful protective qualities. Black tourmaline can be used near your entrance or front windows to transmute negative energies and provide protection from negative people.
3. Work with your own energy
One of the most effective ways we can positively shift the energy of our homes is to work with our own energy. The joy, love, and light that we emit can vibrate throughout our home – whether it is a conscious effort or not. Watch your thoughts and make sure your self-talk is as loving as possible. Meditate in your space, and do things in your home that you simply love – whether that’s cooking, painting, practising yoga or reading. To shift the energy of your space even more, put on some drumming or any kind of music that makes you feel good and gets you moving. Dance around your house with the intention to simply be present and feel joy and freedom – your home will then begin to fill with that vibration. If you have any musical instruments that are sacred to you, such as a drum, flute or rattle, work with them in your home with the intention of sending only the highest, healing vibrations to every centimetre of your space.
4. Pass the salt please
Salt caves have also been used for centuries to aid in healing, so it’s no wonder that this simple mineral can work magic in our homes, too! Himalayan salt lamps are brilliant for purifying the air and reducing electromagnetic radiation. Colour-wise, its warm pink glow is a great mood-booster and sleep-promoter. To keep the energy of your space feeling very clean, fill a small bowl with an inch of salt and place it in a spot in your house where the energy feels particularly heavy. Allow the salt to absorb negative energy for three days, and then take the bowl out into nature and place the salt crystals under a tree. Ask the tree to help transmute the energy into light.
