3 Quick & Easy Gratitude Rituals

Let Neil Seligman help you unlock the power of this art to open your mind and nurture an inner sense of calm
Learning to appreciate what you have is a great way to unwind in your mind and love life for what it is. Neil says, “It turns out that gratitude is the secret to joy.”
Gratitude journal
1 Find a beautiful notebook to use as your gratitude journal, or use the mindfulness journal that you already have.
2 At the start or end of each day, write down three things that you are grateful for.
3 Repeat daily.
Gratitude stone
1 Find a small stone that holds particular significance. It could be a gemstone, a pebble from the beach or even one that turns up in the garden.
2 Each morning, put the stone in your pocket or handbag. Every time something happens in your day that you are grateful for, touch the stone and silently say ‘thank you’.
3 At the end of the day, place the stone in a special place and as you put it down, remember and appreciate all of the wonderful things that happened today.
Gratitude in the post
1 At a frequency of your choosing (once a week or once a month, for example), send someone in your life a thank-you note or email.
2 Be specific. Tell them what they did for you, how it helped, what changed and why it was important for you to communicate your appreciation.
3 Mix things up by occasionally sending yourself a letter of thanks.
