S&S went along to the country’s only eco-spa to experience special sound healing and crystal aromatherapy
Huddled on the edge of the Pennines in Huddersfield lies the Titanic Spa, a luxury facility that gave a 1911 mill a new lease of life.
Inside, greeted by lovely staff, you’ll find more spa activities than you thought possible for a one-day visit. Enter into the sphere of luxury for your day of true goddessness.
Begin in the Egyptian mud chamber, a four-person room in which to bathe your whole self in mud – three types, no less, for face, upper and lower body. Feel like a child again exploring the texture of the clay and after a few moments, finding yourself exfoliated already, relax and breathe in the wellness energy.
Emerge into the heat experience, where ice chamber, plunge pool, foot spa, sauna, steam room, saunarium as well as crystal therapy and aromatherapy rooms await. Our favourite was the crystal therapy, which releases natural herbal scents into the steam to aid a deep level of relaxation and healing.
Before a deliciously healthy lunch of fresh salads or light meals, take a dip in the sound-healing pool where you can meditate to waves of music. Or, indulge yourself in a luxurious treatment in one of the spa’s many private rooms, where you can choose from a classic massage to a xx or a xx. The choice is yours – we could have stayed there all weekend!
If, like us, you found it hard to leave, spend a spell in the outdoor hot tub, order a cocktail at the swanky Bar 1911 or take a book into the plush relaxation room.
Leave feeling like a new woman, and don’t forget to keep the rest of the day calm and relaxed, and drink lots of water. It’s the perfect getaway for yourself to meditate in your own company or bond with girlfriends as you let go the stresses of your week.
