Derek Acorah connects with his sister in spirit
We all have a level of intuition and it is in difficult times we should rely on this most.
This is a beautiful time of year, the sun is shining and we tend to spend more time outside walking and reflecting. I have many happy memories of summers spent in the garden at my parents’ home in Liverpool, where the family would gather together and have fun. There are times in life, however, when difficulties arise that we have trouble dealing with. I’m no exception. I’d like to share a time when I was feeling very low indeed. The only thing I could think of to do was to take myself off somewhere peaceful and gather my thoughts, so I drove to Southport to take a walk along the beach. As I walked slowly along the deserted coastline contemplating my life, I asked my family in spirit for help. I asked them to guide me and help steer my path away from the problems I was experiencing. I suddenly became aware that I was not alone, that somebody was walking beside me. I felt a gentle touch on my arm and as I looked down I could see a young lady.
A familiar face
She was beautiful and serene and her love surrounded me and uplifted me. I recognised her as my younger sister Angela who had passed on to the spirit world many years before. As I continued walking, Angela walked with me. I spoke to her and unburdened myself of all the cares and worries I had. “Don’t worry, Derek,” she told me, “Nan, myself and everybody else are working hard to support and inspire you. We can’t solve your problems but we can help you to work through them yourself”. Of course I understood the wisdom of what she was telling me, that nobody can wave a magic wand over our problems. It’s no good turning in on ourselves and blanking our minds to inspiration or positive thought. You can be sure that these thoughts are direct from our loved ones in spirit and that they are attempting to influence us onto the correct pathway. We all have a level of intuition and it is in difficult times we should rely on this most.
A burden lifted
My walk on the beach ended and as I returned to where I had parked my car, my sister Angela faded back to nothing. She had lightened my burden by letting me know that I had love all around me from the spirit world, that they understood me and would be by my side, no matter what. People may find it strange that I was so overcome by what happened on that evening. At that point I had been a working medium for some years, so I was well used to communicating with the world of spirit. However, it generally takes another medium to bring us personal enlightenment. On this occasion I was fortunate that my beautiful sister came along to bring me solace at a time when I needed it most. When difficulties enter our lives, we should sit in the peace and calm or take a walk in a quiet place and allow our loved ones to inspire us. Be in no doubt whatsoever that they are always around us and even more so in times of turmoil. Trust in them and trust in your own intuition.
