Solitary witches work alone and enjoy their own company. They rarely perform your magic with others, and don’t belong to a coven. They like nothing more than being left to their own devices and will experiment with different ingredients for spells (rather than follow the instructions to the letter), which gives them a greater sense of personal power. This doesn’t mean they don’t collaborate well with others, but that you prefer your own company.
Many solitary witches combine bits of information, such as rituals and the times they practice, from different paths. This means you are not confined to following any one system, as can happen in covens. If you are a quiet individual who likes to keep yourself to yourself, this is the craft for you. When you work alone, there is no one to impress, so you can experiment with spells and rituals whenever you like.

A wishing spell for a solitary witch
You will need
Sheet of paper
White tea light candle
Full Moon (the wishing Moon)
Draw a pentagram at the top of the paper and write your wish below. Fold the sheet three times and light your candle. Allow the wax to melt a little, before dripping a small amount of it on to the side of the paper to seal it. Say,‘By the power in me, I call upon the universe to grant me my wish. As I believe, so I receive. So mote it be.’
Just before the candle burns down, light your sheet of paper and place it in the fireproof dish. Allow it to turn to ash safely. Once it’s all gone, take the remains outside and throw them into the air. Believe in the ritual’s power, and your wish should come true within 28 days.
