After a hectic day in the office, feeling frazzled, Robin Robinson finds her inner calm again thanks to a meditation by Kimberley Jones, founder of the E-Wakening Academy
As a presenter of a women’s health and wellbeing radio show, I get to sample all sorts of things, from books to beach bags, chilli oil to chocolate, herbal tea to tarot courses, even retreats embracing the power from above; you name it, I’ve tried it.
After one long day in the office, surrounded by frantic people with busy agendas, I’d begun to wonder how come some days everything just flows, where as other times there is a lack of balance and a bundle of tension and emotion in the room that seems to pass like a wave from one person to another, affecting everyone in different ways. I’d found myself muttering under my breath in anger at the combined shift in energy in our office, and momentarily confused at how my own ego had managed to react to it, especially after all the spiritual books and courses and inner chanting mechanisms I’d so eagerly adopted.
Balancing the masculine and feminine
So when I got home and turned on my computer, fortunately I discovered I’d received an email from Kimberley Jones, founder of the E-Wakening Academy, which empowers spiritual women. Kimberley has trained with and been apprenticed to some of the world’s most gifted spiritual teachers. She has studied energy mastery, transformational facilitation, spiritual healing, transformational breath work, modern shamanic practices, energy skills for conscious business, LifeTracking (creative kinesiology with energy medicine and personal growth), creative thinking, creative management and much more. And here she was giving me the chance to try her meditation to ‘harmonise masculine and feminine energies’, which I launched straight into.
A quick little MP3 mediation (RRP £6.99), it gave me a 10-minute blast of Kimberley’s calming manner that instantly relaxed my mind. Her exercise lifted me into a safe space where I imagined balls of energy, representing the masculine and feminine respectively, in each hand. I was not only able to imagine but also feel the difference between the two, allowing me to connect to and understand the energies that had been at play during the day, as well as to disentangling myself from them. I smiled gratefully while it all fell into place. I heartily recommend this meditation if you are feeling off kilter after a day at the grind stone.
