Ashley Leavy explains why we sometimes may not feel as connected to our crystals as we’d like…
Firstly, just because your crystals didn’t work for healing this one time, doesn’t mean they don’t work, or that they won’t work for you again in the future.
It could be that your body was just worn down, and that you became a bit ill. Sometimes, this is necessary so that we actually take time to recover physically. Your crystals were still likely working hard behind the scenes to support you energetically.
Also, from time to time, we need a break from everything, and yes, dare I say it, even from working with our stones – and this is okay! I love gardening, but if I were to do it every day, I would overdo it and exhaust myself.
Sometimes, you just have to trust that your crystals know best. If you’re not feeling called to work with them right now, it could be because they’re sending you signals that it’s just not the right time. Or, even more likely, your higher self may be sending you signals that it’s not the right time.
My advice is to take a step back, and allow yourself some time to naturally get back into your crystal groove. Maybe start slowly by adding a piece of crystal jewellery into your routine, or choose just one single stone to carry around in your pocket for a few days. Just be in the flow of the universe – don’t force it, and your connection will rekindle in divine time.
Sometimes, the universe forces us to take a break from things − even from the things that we love and are important to us. It may be time to get really honest with yourself and ask some important questions about why you’re unable to connect with your stones, such as:
• “Am I taking care of myself?”
• “Am I pursuing my work and being of service to others at the expense of my own physical or emotional well-being?”
• “Is there any reason my guides or the universe would want me to take a pause or rest from the work I am doing?”
• “Has anything else in my life shifted or changed that would cause me to feel disconnected from my work?”
Take some time to really sit with these questions, maybe even meditate on them, or journal about them. Sometimes these things can be scary, overwhelming or difficult to face, but there is almost always a good reason for this.
Try this: Crystal cleanse
Sage away any possible negative energies your stones could be holding on to
1 Take a sage stick, lighting one end of it. With the crystals you feel aren’t working or doing anything for you anymore, one by one, waft the smudge stick over and around them.
2 Once you have wafted the smoke around your crystals individually, place them in a wooden bowl together, and once again, wave the smudge over all of them collectively.
3 Take each stone out, one by one, and hold it gently. Clear your mind of any negative thoughts, transmuting this down to your crystal. This should then wipe clean anything untoward it may be holding on to, preventing it from working to its full potential.
