Summer is the perfect time of year to nurture our minds, bodies and souls. High-vibrational holistic health is a gift, and as we find ourselves naturally drawn to healthier foods, drinking more water and wearing lighter clothing, we generally feel more positive. As we nourish our mind, body and soul, we nourish the world. Make the most of the abundance around you right now to kick-start the following spiritual practices. These can be adapted and followed all year round.
Greet the day
We can make the most of early sunrises even before our feet hit the floor. Take five or ten minutes to set your intentions for the day and fill yourself up with positive life-affirming energy. Keep a small citrine crystal by your bed and on waking hold the crystal in your left hand over your heart chakra. Ask your spirit guides to step forward and guide you throughout the day for your highest good and wellbeing.
Remember when you go to bed to thank Spirit for its guidance.
Soak up the sunshine
As we learn to merge and move with the season, we become more intuitively aware of what needs to be stored away for autumn and winter months. Our instinctive responses to our needs allow us to soak up sunshine, hydrate our bodies, make food choices that are abundant with essential vitamins and minerals. And, although we may find we’re sleeping less during the shorter, warmer nights, overall we’re healthier and happier. When we feel happy, we detox emotionally and subsequently we’re able to take life at a more leisurely pace.
Eat the rainbow
We can most definitely indulge our senses with our choice of food. Whether it’s beetroot or blueberries, carrots or kale, there is no end of choice. We want to remain environmentally aware as we choose ingredients, but most fruit and vegetables can be locally sourced – or even homegrown! Diet is so important if we want to be a clear channel for Spirit. Just a few days spent ‘eating the rainbow’ will improve your intuitive responses, help you slow down and feel calmer.

Summer is the perfect time to take our spiritual practices outside into the sunshine and express our gratitude for our abundant lives.
1 Find a place where you won’t be disturbed. Take several deep breaths and become aware of your connection to Universal energy.
2 Close your eyes, place your hands over your heart and say:
“Thank you for my abundant life. I am blessed to receive rest, I am nourished as I release my worries, and I am revived as I welcome and accept the unconditional nurturing of the Universe.And so, it is”.
