Psychic medium Christine Hamlett caught the spirit of a black-eyed child on camera, and claims she knows why the young girl is haunting the area
Warning – the following images some viewers may find disturbing
Christine, of Northwich, Cheshire, calls herself a rescue medium who specialises in helping spirits into the light. She recently came into contact with a little girl she believes is the phenomenon called the Black Eyed Child of Cannock Chase, and was able to take photographs of the spirit.
She said, “There are three children that I picked up on that haunt the area. Two girls and one boy are in spirit there because I believe they were buried nearby.”
‘The Black Eyed Child’, (which has been spooking visitors for 30 years in the area), has reportedly been spotted dozens of times in recent weeks by locals.
“If people see one of the children they should speak to them if they are feeling brave, these children have a tale to tell and they cannot cross into the light until they have told it, I am on a mission to help them tell their story.
“Other than scare people I don’t feel they mean any harm. Their eyes are black because of the illness and death they had, not for any other sinister reason”, she said.
The spook was captured more than once on Christine’s camera, when she visited the area recently and she has now released new intriguing pictures of the supposed phenomenon.
What appeared to be the outline of a young girl sitting by a tree could be made out and many recognised the spirit because of haunting black eyes the ghost appeared to have.
After spotting the spirit children, Christine did some investigation into their deaths to see if it might help her put the spirits to rest. “I found out that there was a measles epidemic in the area and you can go blind with measles, so that could explain their black eyes,” she said.
Christine believes that the children are haunting the area because they have unfinished business and don’t want to go into the light, because of fear or religious beliefs.
“The unfinished business is that they were alone like orphans and could even of been in a home or workhouse, I believe they didn’t have a proper burial and so they want to be found and their story told – that is their unfinished business,” she said.
The Black Eyed Child of Cannock Chase has quickly become an internet sensation, with similar sightings of the girl having been reported, similar to witness accounts told back in the 1980s.
