According to psychic extraordinaire Tarotbella we all have a sixth sense, we just need to discover it and start using it. That’s why this month we’re launching #PSYCHICSEPTEMBER to challenge each and every one of you to find your power and start working that muscle!
To get started, take our quiz below, then share it along with your results on social media with the hashtag #PSYCHICSEPTEMBER to get your friends involved. You could be in with a chance of winning a one-to-one psychic coaching session with Tarotbella!
To work your psychic muscle follow Tarotbella’s advice given in your answer every day for a month and share your progress. We’ll be watching how you’re getting on and giving you our own updates along the way. You could even be featured in the November issue of Soul & Spirit.
CLAIRVOYANCE To see (unseen) events, scenarios, symbols, people, places, impressions or images in your mind’s eye.
Develop this sixth sense by scrying or crystal gazing Any reflective surface (even a mirror or a glass of water) will suffice. Just sit comfortably with the crystal ball, mirror or glass in front of you, ideally against a black cloth, in low lighting (for example a single candle). Gaze into the crystal, focusing on the very centre. Breathe deeply, allow yourself to blink, and let your mind clear. Within two to ten minutes (if it takes any longer try again another day), a mist or smoke may appear within the glass, which should then clear to reveal an image (static or moving). This is your mind’s eye.
CLAIRAUDIENCE To hear (unspoken) words, sounds, echoes, messages or conversations in your inner ear.
Develop this sixth sense with automatic writing Find the largest piece of paper you can (ideally wallpaper) and sit comfortably with the paper to one side and a pen resting in your hand on top of it. Then focus on something else (the TV, a conversation, reading Soul & Spirit). Ignore your hand, allowing your attention to be absorbed elsewhere. After two to ten minutes (if it takes any longer try again another day) you’ll notice your hand moving of its own volition. It may start as loops or circles, but will settle into writing. After a while, look at what you have written. There may be messages.
CLAIREMPATHY To sense the emotions or vibrational energy of another person. Sometimes called clairsentience.
Develop this sixth sense by photo reading Ask a friend or family member to show you a photo of someone you don’t know, but they do (very well). Focus on the photo, look at their eyes, demeanour, expression. Do you like them, trust them, sense how they might be feeling? What vibes do you receive? Share your impressions and ask for feedback on how close to the mark you were.
CLAIRTANGENCY To receive information via the handling of objects. Sometimes called psychometry (Greek for ‘soul measure’).
Develop this sixth sense with psychometry Hold an object in one hand (some people hold it to their chest, forehead, or a chakra point), and concentrate on it. The first impressions are likely to be from ‘spirit’, so pay attention. You may even become conscious of a taste (for example, cigars or liquorice) or a smell (for example, perfume or smoke). You may wish to write down any thoughts which enter your head as they arrive. Practise this in short bursts with different objects.
