If you’ve ever had an overwhelming urge to help others, it could be a message from above that the angels need your help…
It’s time to embrace your spiritual gifts and help others while you’re at it. “We seem to be born to perform certain tasks, and many of these roles have to do with learning and teaching about being spiritual,” says Jacky Newcomb, author of Do you know your Guardian Angel? (£12.99, CICO). “Some of us have agreed to help others along the way, and our angels have stepped forward to light the path of our journey. Angels always ensure we are guided to our learning destination.” Jacky explains how to spot the signs that the angels are sending you, and what to do when they’ve got our attention:
• A white feather is traditionally associated with celestial beings. Why not collect the feathers you find and pop them into get-well cards, or attach them to gifts to spread a little angel energy?
• Watch out for coins, crystals, or heart-shaped pebbles that catch your eye. These seemingly insignificant tokens can mean a lot when you’re looking for a sign. Keep them in a special place as a reminder that your guardians are close.
•Coincidences are another way angels reach out to you. A common one is to bump into an old friend several times after not seeing her for years. Maybe you need to chat to discover what the angels have set up for you both.
• Pay attention to your dreams. Angels can appear during your sleep because this is when it’s easier to work through your problems with them. Often, it’s only when you wake up that you realise you’ve been communicating with a heavenly helper. Jot down any ideas or words of wisdom when you wake up to guide you through the rest of the day.
How to help
Celestial beings sometimes ask us to help others through our feelings – it could be a sudden urge to ring someone, or even just to smile at a stranger. These intuitive acts of kindness are said to be the angels’ ways of working through us. “When you spread joy around, people are more likely to be optimistic about the future,” says angel communicator Radleigh Valentine. “This gives them self-confidence and they are more likely to follow their life purpose. So it’s important to the angels that you do nice things for people without expecting anything in return.” Another way you can assist is by sending healing energy out into the world. “Our planet is in a lot of trouble and prayer really helps,” says Radleigh. “When you pray, you are collaborating with the angels in raising the vibrations of everyone on Earth. Also, do whatever you can to help our furry, finned and feathered friends. The angels are run ragged trying to protect animals from cruelty.” With the busy lives we all lead, it’s easy to forget about your magical angel team. Remembering to say thank you every day will help you stay in touch with your guides. “Put a note on your mirror or the dashboard of your car to remind yourself to say hello and express your gratitude – everyone likes to be thanked, even angels,” Radleigh adds.
Are you an earth angel?
If you recognise any of these character traits in yourself, you could be a heavenly messenger, too!
You’re a helper – Most earth angels have a sense that their sole purpose is involved in helping others.
Intense sensitivity – This can be to other people, harsh chemicals or things reported in the media. You may also find crowds overwhelming. This sensitivity is a gift, which enables you to know where your services are needed.
A strong confidante – Are you the first person your friends call when they need a sympathetic ear? Do strangers tell you their problems? This is a sign you have a high vibration that people trust.
