Do you often find yourself setting hopes and goals but never achieving them? Here’s how to make your dreams come true once and for all…
Make it achieveable
Remember not to expect too much of yourself – you are only capable of a certain amount of change at any one time. While it’s okay to have an ambitious dream, make sure that you respect your mind, body and soul and don’t set yourself an aim that is likely to end in failure. It’s okay to have a major overarching goal, but break it into small sections day by day – this will eventually lead to something bigger and better.
Timing is everything
You may have set a goal to do yoga every day, and that’s great! To ensure you stick to your target, plan out how much time you will put aside each day, week, and month to stick to it. Keep a record of how much time you spend working towards your dream each week and how it made you feel. Also create a calendar to remind yourself of your intentions.
It is crucial that you understand precisely what you wish to change or improve in your life, and that you remind yourself of your intention on a daily basis to keep focused. Taking up meditation, for instance, could be for a number of reasons. Define what your dream is and why you want to do it. Why would it make you happy? How would it make you feel when you have achieved it? Remind yourself and repeat as necessary.
Evaluate in great detail what you wish to accomplish and how. Write down a step by step plan towards your goal, if it helps. This is about you feeling empowered and achieving something great, so be honest with yourself and treat the process with love.
Share your goal
Tell someone about your dream. Make sure it’s someone you trust as they can help motivate you and put you back on track should you have a set back. Success feels even better when it’s shared with a good friend.
