Fairy expert Karen Kay shows us how you can use fairy powers to find inner peace
We all know that feeling, when you are walking in nature, and a wave of peace washes over you. In our busy daily lives we all need an escape so we can connect with our inner being and experience that stillness within. It is very healing to do this on many levels.
It makes perfect sense that the fairies are peaceful beings, especially as they are surrounded by nature all the time! They really are ‘at one’ with the great outdoors, so we can learn a thing or two from them. If you took a few moments to meditate, imagine how peaceful you could be. Surrounding yourself with fresh flowers, ideally ones that are still growing, is very uplifting and brings about a sense of feeling uplifted and peaceful. Plus, there’s the beautiful fragrance that flowers bring. Scent is a wonderful way to bring about a peaceful environment, which is why many people also burn incense to help create a peaceful atmosphere. Aromatherapy oil diffusers are another way to bring fragrance into your home – and the fae folk love them!
There are many benefits to being peaceful, including lower blood pressure, which is a real boost to well-being. Stress can cause so many ailments, so why not choose peace instead? There is always a moment before we get stressed where we actually have a choice – it can be fleeting, but it’s definitely there. So count to five and relax… invite the fae folk to wrap you in protection from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Breathe and remain still. Transport yourself in your mind’s eye to fairyland. When we are still and at peace, fairies can connect to us more easily. This should hopefully be even more of an incentive to become peaceful, especially if you wish to have a deeper relationship with the fairies, thereby allowing more magic and fun in your life!
Think of the things that make you feel relaxed and at peace. Sometimes situations in the ‘real’ world can leave us with feelings of frustration, and not only does this make us feel down, but it also stops us feeling peaceful. So wherever you are, if you are feeling stressed during your everyday activities (like in a busy supermarket queue), stop and imagine fairies flying around a field of fragrant flowers on a sunny day. This will have an immediate effect on the way you are feeling. We know that being in the same room as someone who is angry or frustrated can also affect our own mood, and the same is true of being in a room with someone who is meditating or feeling very relaxed and happy. The vibes of others really affect our own, and this is especially true of sensitive people. Notice how your inner peace affects others when they are around you. It really is catching, just like laughter! Be sure to surround yourself with objects that remind you of peace. Like a painting of a white dove, or a calming crystal like Amethyst. Enjoy your newfound peace.
Calming fairy meditations
1 Find a quiet place to sit or lie down either inside or outside in nature. Say out loud, “I call to the fairies of love and peace, come to me now, let my worries cease”. Feel the immediate sense of calm wash over you as you call in the peace fairies. Always thank the fairies whenever you work with them. You can do this with a physical action like picking up litter, or leaving some fresh fruit out for them. The birds will deliver it to them!
2 Sit near some fresh, fragrant flowers. Breathe in the scent and feel the peace enter your being. The flower fairies are sure to be nearby and will bring an extra helping of peace your way.
3 Find your favourite tree and sit with your back against it. Imagine the roots of it going deep into the ground. The tree is strong, wise and stable – these are all qualities of peace and wisdom that will be transmitted to you as you sit near the tree.
