George Lizos takes us through what it means to be a lightworker, and how we can all break past what’s stopping us from reaching our full soul potential by overcoming 3 essential blocks
What is a lightworker?
Lightworkers are evolved souls who incarnate here on planet earth lifetime after lifetime, with the aim of making the world a more loving and peaceful place. Although some lightworkers fulfil their life purpose early on in their incarnation journey, most face considerable obstacles that prevent them from doing so.
Over hundreds of years, lightworkers have been burned at the stake, criticised for being different, rejected for their beliefs and shamed for owning their magic. Yet, despite the persecution they’ve endured, they’ve had the courage to come back, lifetime after lifetime, persisting and shining their light.
Presently, and as our world has become an increasingly challenging place to live in, more and more lightworker souls have chosen to incarnate to help restore the balance. They’re here as witches, shamans and wise ones, working tirelessly to clear the energy of fear, and help in the ascension of our planet.
Over the 10 years I’ve helped lightworkers overcome their fears and own their light, I’ve noticed three common blocks or obstacles that most lightworkers face. Overcoming these is key to following their purpose and making the change they’re here to make – let me show you how…
“I don’t know what my life purpose is”
Although lightworkers’ collective purpose involves making the world a more loving and peaceful place, we each have a specific purpose that’s crafted after our unique set of skills, abilities and personalities. Although we’re born knowing exactly what that purpose is, the set rules and stereotypical formulas for success that we’re taught growing up inevitably smother our knowingness.
Remembering your specific lightworker purpose involves following what makes you happy. The emotion of happiness is aligned to your life purpose. Therefore, identifying the times in your life when you were at your happiest, as well as the activities, interactions and circumstances you were involved in during these times, will give you clues as to what your purpose is.

“I’m afraid of what others will think of me”
The fear of being judged or rejected by our friends, family and society is one that so many lightworkers have. This stems from traumatic past life experiences where lightworkers were persecuted and even killed for their beliefs. Although you may not consciously remember these past life experiences, your soul does. The fear of being persecuted is still lingering in your unconscious mind, thus creating the expectation that if you dare to be yourself, you’ll be judged.
The way to overcome this fear is twofold. Firstly, calling the fear by its name disarms it. All a negative emotion wants is to be heard, after which it loses its power completely. Therefore, allowing yourself to feel, and even grieve the lifetimes where your light was snuffed out is a powerful way of releasing the fear associated to it. Secondly, doing a past life regression with an experienced therapist will help you identify and heal the source of trauma and eliminate its lingering effects in your life now.
“I’m not good enough”
Lack of confidence in standing up for your beliefs and moving forward in your purpose is usually linked with not consistently connecting to and nurturing your light.
Happiness, and therefore your light, is like a muscle. The longer and more consistently you nurture it, the stronger and more enduring it will be within you. In feeling consistently happier, feelings of inadequacy or not being good enough must dissipate − you can’t feel happy and doubtful at the same time.
Nurturing your light is all about having a daily spiritual practice − a timed, conscious and consistent ritual where you connect to your divine self and sure up your confidence. As you keep nurturing your light, its presence within you will dominate the presence of fear and doubt that your ego brings forth, and you’ll find yourself trusting your spiritual abilities more.
