Here on Soul & Spirit, we’re not only here to accept, love and appreciate your crystal addiction, we’re here to encourage it!
We’ve rounded up our top 9 favourite hints and tips to help you keep your crystals organised so you can have that extra bit of inner Zen in your life while still being a gemstone diva!
Start a journal
One way to get organised is to do an inventory of everything you already own. Grab a fresh, clean, new notebook (plus, who doesn’t love an excuse to buy stationary?), and begin by sorting out which crystals you already have, and what you use them for (perhaps organise them by chakra healing, angelic connection, spells, etc).
If you’re feeling creative, you could even sketch a few of your favourite gems, giving your new inventory that extra personal touch.
Make a chart
In addition to a notebook, charts are another great visual way to keep track of your undoubtedly evergrowing crystal collection.
If crystal healing for your chakras is your thing, why not print out a chakra chart like the one below, and annotate it with which crystals you use for certain chakras. Or if you’re someone who uses crystals based on which room they work best in, why not draw a map of your home and sketch on it where each crystal belongs? We suggest getting arty with this endeavour, and using watercolours and glitter to make it extra soulful.
And not only that, your new creation will add a fabulous touch to your home decor!
If you’re feeling ambitious, making a shelving unit to house your bigger stones such as geodes and large clusters is a great way to not only keep things in tip-top condition, but to display your loudest and proudest gems. If you’re not confident on your DIY prowess, not to worry, as shelves like this one we found on Pinterest can easily be bought online or in secondhand shops.
As much as we love tumblestones, it’s very easy to (over time) amass a pretty big collection of them! For those that you don’t carry around with you, maybe keep them in a wooden or copper bowl? A bowl of Rose Quartz tumblestones for instance would help promote love and harmony to flow through whichever room it was placed in.
Create a permanant crystal grid
If you have enough space in your home, why not take a few of your favourite gems and make a permanent crystal grid? Find a corner in your home, or even a table, and lay out your stones according to how you wish to harness and draw in energy. If you’re stuck for crystal grid inspiration, there’s plenty online – simply search and start gridding away!
Harness Mother Nature
On the (not-so-slim, let’s be honest) chance that your house is bursting at the seams with crystals galore, why not put some outside? Not only will they charge in the moonlight, they will absorb all of Mother Earth’s wonderful energy. Swap your stones frequently to give them all a chance to take in this powerful life force. You can bury them in soil, arrange them in a circle on your grass, or place them on an outdoor feature like the folk at Earthegy have done!
Create a terrarium
Terrariums are a great way to house plants in your home, but who’s to say you can’t use them for crystals? We love this idea, of using a tear drop-shaped terrarium filled with sand and crystal placed on top!
Create a shrine
Give praise to and hail the almighty crystal with a dedicated shrine in your home. This can be on a table, on a shelf or even on your desk. Add incense, candles and herbs to make it ultra holistic and even more magical!
Or just put them in boxes!
Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best ones, and an effective storage solution is to place any crystals that you’re not using in an organised divider, for quick and easy access as and when you need them.
